NKS village is a community of about 18 women embroiderers who specialise in Hormuch or interlacing stitch. We started working together in late 2011. This community of craftswomen delicately embroider our stitch accent cotton scarves. A jovial group of women who love a good joke and always up for a laugh, however there are some serious underlying social concerns. Some of these women are sole bread winners for their families with some male members with serious drug addictions. As they have very little land, they do not have much in terms of alternative sources of income.

Previously practiced with directly embroidering on cloth with high skill, most women today rely on wood blocks to imprint Hormuch patterns before embroidering. Our workshops try to introduce free hand drawing and patterns to build a free flowing expression in their embroidery again.
